Join us for a 'mad' day in the Mournes when we will be travelling from Newcastle to Rostrevor over forest trails, singletrack, road, open mountainside and mountain summits.

All participants will complete the journey and there will be 2 different routes - hardcore and not as hardcore.

No matter what the skill level this will still be a VERY challenging day. Don't worry if you don't have a bike as we can hire them to you at an additional cost

Cost: Deposit: £25.00 and then raise a minimum of £175.00

Location: Newcastle, Co Down

This has been up less than a year but with 51 rides last year its been great! If you would like to get more involved by placing your spins or joining others in the calendar that would be most welcome

Nutrition & FoodNutrition for endurance eventsSubmitted by ljewell on Mon, 17/10/2005 -

With the Highland Fling just around the corner thought I would post some information about nutrition. I am guessing most people will be looking at completing this event in 5-7hrs so you probably burn around serious energy during the day and if you don't get it right you may run out of juice before the finish line.

Your body gets energy from two main energy systems:
Anaerobic
Aerobic

Fancy an early spin this Sun, anyone? I know it's bank holiday, but have just sorted new brakes for my bike after hydraulics failure & seized pistons on the old ones led weeks of being grounded, so itching to get going again. Suggest 10am in 3 Rock - anyone know what state the trails are? If not an option then maybe Ballinastoe ?
Cheers,
Denis

Hello!

Hello...I posted a spin at the weekend after stumbling across this site but before introducing myself. So what's the story, is there any oirish bikers here or is it a dead site?

Ballyhoura Day Trip

Hey
Does anyone fancy a daytrip to Ballyhoura one day in July?

Im thinking the from the green to the blue loop.
There is really nice single track in these loops
and it will be a great day out!!!

We can start out early in the morning,
drive straight to balyhoura and spend the day there and back up
later that day.

I was there last year and it was great!
If anyone would like to come along let me know by posting here.
Thanks
Leeza
